Women of today are more active in the world of business, sports, laws, art and science. Even in the world of professionals, many women have become successful and even famous. Thus, for a modern day woman, a wardrobe should not just contain dresses, aprons, blouses and skirts but other clothing and things as well.
According to fashion experts and advisers, the wardrobe basics modern women should have include different wardrobe items good for at least one purpose. Modern day women’s wardrobe basics consist of two pairs of jeans, one hemmed for flat shoes while the other is hemmed for heeled shoes; two pairs of dark slacks, either navy blue or black; a dress, a little black dress would be perfect; three skirts which consist of an A-line skirt, a pencil cut and a skirt in a neutral fabric; two jackets which consist of a sporty type design and a tailored jacket that matches with the black pants; three coats which include either a winter coat or a cashmere coat, a classic trench coat and a knee-length transition coat which works well for day and night; and some shirts, including a white front button shirt or blouse.
Other wardrobe basics include three bags of different kinds such as a classic all-occasion leather bag, an envelope-shaped elegant bag for the evening, and a casual tote bag that can contain many things; five pairs of shoes which consist of a pair of black office shoes, a pair of tall and black boots, a pair of “bad-weather” boots, a pair of sneakers or rubber shoes, and a pair of a close-toe black satin shoes for the evening; and of course some socks and stockings.
